A place for community and connection for Seniors
Welcome to Orting Senior Center Organization!
The Senior Center is a daytime activity facility to enhance the quality of life for Seniors providing exercise, meals, food bank assistance (55+), social, recreational & educational services, & maintain independence Monday through Thursday and the 2nd & 4th Friday 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
We offer a hot home-cooked meal Monday through Thursday and the second and fourth Friday at 11:45am. There is no need to call and reserve your lunch, come on in! We do ask that you are here by 11:30am.
Lunch is a suggested donation of $6 for those 60 and over. For those 59 and under the meal price is $13.
No senior will be turned away without a meal due to the inability to pay.
We also host a Senior food pantry to help supplement the cost of groceries. If you are in need of groceries call 253.375.3378 for more information.
Pierce County Council Responses:
We recently sent inquiries to all four candidates running for Pierce County Council, District 1, asking them a series of important questions regarding issues that affect seniors in our community. Our goal is to help keep local seniors informed about where each candidate stands on senior-related topics and priorities.
Below are the responses we have received so far. As additional responses are received, we will share them with our community as well.

Thank you for supporting our new building expansion. Our CDBG (grant) we received in 2022 is unfortunately not going to cover the costs of our expansion since the price of labor and materials has increased drastically since. This grant is a slow process so we are struggling getting this project started. We know with your monetary donation we can get this going and be able to finish this exciting project the the seniors in Orting deserve! Please take a moment and share if you would be so kind.

FREE Shuttle Rides
We offer FREE shuttle rides to and from the Senior Center Monday through Thursday. Please call the day before you would like to come to reserve your seat.
